News From HQ: New Year, New Flying Opportunities

Happy new year from the staff at Club Connector! While we face some of the same challenges this year as we did for most of last year, it’s safe to say we are wiser and more prepared for 2021! We kick off the 2021 edition of Club Connector with an exciting edition that covers club culture, aircraft selection vs. mission, and aeronautical decision making. Take a look at the articles in this edition and as always, contact us with any questions/suggestions.

2020 Flying Clubs Survey Wrap-Up and Sweepstakes Winner!

Thank you to all of the clubs who participated in our 4th Flying Clubs Survey! We had the best response rate ever this year and gleaned much great information from your responses. We have some good news! Flying clubs flew more in 2020 than in 2019 with an average of 395 hours flown per club. We also found that more clubs are at their membership capacity with a wait list of members. This means that there is plenty of opportunity out there for new flying clubs! Please contact us to help you get started on your flying club journey.

We are pleased to announce our Survey Sweepstakes winner: FFF Flying Club based at Indianapolis Regional Airport (MQJ)! Club contact Chris Reckley was delighted to receive a PJ2 Handheld COM Radio from Sporty’s Pilot Shop. We would like to thank Sporty’s for their generous support of the Flying Clubs Initiative. See this month’s Safety Section to learn more about a great CO Detector offered by Sporty’s.
