You Can Fly—Working Remotely to Keep the Aviation Community Engaged

While the You Can Fly team along with the rest of AOPA headquarters is working remotely in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, rest assured that we are working harder than ever to keep the aviation community engaged and growing. Here are just a few of the exciting things we have been working on.

Online Flying Club Workshop Webinars

Our workshops are intended to provide existing flying clubs a chance to improve their operations and culture while networking with other clubs in their region. Last year we held live workshops in Texas, North Carolina, Florida, New York, Illinois, and California. Obviously with the current restrictions on groups gathering in one place we needed to come up with a way to do these workshops remotely. After much research and testing, we have found an excellent online webinar hosting service that allows for great audience interaction and information sharing. This doesn’t just apply to Flying Clubs presentations; Rusty Pilots, High Schools, and the Flight School sections of You Can Fly have successfully employed this new method as well.

Do you follow AOPA on Instagram? If not, you definitely should! For the past few weeks, we have been doing Instagram Live sessions with staff members from departments across the organization. These are great ways to ask questions about their careers, interests, and most importantly what they do for you! Our Instagram account is also a great source of exciting aviation content to keep you gazing skyward in these difficult times. Follow us @FlywithAOPA
