Going to Oshkosh? Plan to Attend AOPA’s Seminars and Flying Club Social
AirVenture 2016

It’s that time again, when pilots and aviation enthusiasts make the annual pilgrimage to Oshkosh for EAA’s AirVenture, and AOPA will be there to represent flying clubs with seminars and a social event. Whether you’re looking to start a flying club or expand an existing one, get back to being pilot in command or just want to brush up on your flying knowledge, or if you simply just want to share some camaraderie with fellow flying club members, AOPA has programming designed for you.

It’s all happening at AOPA’s main tent, which will be located at the intersections of Waukau and Wittman Road. Right next to it will be the You Can Fly tent surrounded by the Reimagined 172 and 152.  Stop by and take a look at what you can get with a reimagined aircraft and how they can help your club get a ‘Like New’ aircraft at a used price.

On Wednesday, July 27 at 7:30 a.m. there will be a Rusty Pilots seminar.  It’s an early start for a great presentation if you are interested in getting back into the left seat or are just looking for a refresher course. Chris Moser, our Senior Manager of Flight Training, will be helping all of those rusty pilots get back to flying or brush up on their knowledge. The seminar serves as the ground portion of your flight review, so even if you are an active pilot, there’s a benefit to attending.

Friday, July 29 is flying club day. There will be a presentation at 1:00 p.m. on starting or growing a flying club. Getting a flying club off the ground can be challenging and AOPA ambassadors will be on hand to provide as much information as possible. So, if you are interested in or know someone who has been wanting to get their own flying club started, or your existing club has questions on how to grow, stop by and get your questions answered.

AOPA will also host our flying club social event in the Program Pavilion tent Friday at 5:30 p.m.  The social will feature a brief appearance by AOPA President Mark Baker.  The social event is a great opportunity to meet members from other clubs and share information and ideas.  Good food and ice-cold beverages will be provided, plus an opportunity to chat with other flying club members and AOPA staff. Come for the refreshments, to socialize, or just to ask questions. Take this opportunity to share your club’s successes and learn more about other clubs.

AOPA has presentations planned for the entire show, so stop by and check out everything we have going on.
